Labouring Gratitude (2022)

Labouring Gratitude is a performative declaration of appreciation and love within continuously shifting landscapes of relationships, where genealogy and memory converse with gesture, video and storytelling.

The work offers an intimate reflective exchange between mother and son and the changing roles and responsibilities their relationship is predicated on as they both age and respectively wane and wax in various aspects of their lives.

Labouring Gratitude was performed at the Live Art Festival 2022 (Cape Town, South Africa).
